From flags to one-of-a-kind products
For an entire year, the flags brought colour to the city as Amsterdam celebrated its 750th birthday. You could spot them everywhere: along the canals, at events and throughout the neighbourhoods. Now that the celebrations are over, their original job is done. Transformed into unique products, they are ready for a new chapter — letting Amsterdam 750 live on in your hands.
Carry a little piece of Amsterdam with you
After the city finished celebrating, we had the opportunity to give the colourful flags a second life. We turned them into bags, pouches and a travel pouch. Ready for everyday use — each with its own story to tell. So you are not just taking a unique item with you, but a tangible memory of a very special milestone.

A tribute to Amsterdam 750
As a nod to the jubilee, every item is finished with a subtle ‘Amsterdam 750’ label. A small detail, but a lasting reminder of a remarkable year.
Material with a story
These flags once coloured the city during its 750th birthday celebrations. Now they begin again — transformed into sustainable products with a story that continues.
Made local
Made where their story began: Amsterdam. By keeping production local, the connection with the city and the material remains intact. Every item is made by hand, with care and respect for where the story started.
Amsterdam’s birthday
Amsterdam celebrated its 750th birthday for an entire year — a jubilee full of stories, neighbourhood initiatives and major events. The year may have come to an end, but the memories remain. A unique moment where the city looked back on its history and ahead to its future.
Crafted where their story began
The Unbegun x Amsterdam 750 pieces are proudly handmade in Amsterdam. The flags are cut to size using custom patterns and cleaned when needed. One of our makers is Maartje — formerly a theatre costume designer — who has been creating bags for Unbegun for over ten years.

While supply (of flags) lasts
The number of flags is limited — and so is this collection. Once all flags have been upcycled and found a new home, production stops. Want one? Don’t wait too long.
Five items, made with love for the material (and the city)
The Unbegun x Amsterdam 750 collection features five products, all crafted from the colourful flags that decorated the city for a year.
Two shoppers — one compact, one extra spacious — for daily errands or active days. Two pouches in different sizes, ideal for pens, cables or small essentials. And a versatile travel pouch. Each one handmade, functional and truly one-of-a-kind — a tangible piece of Amsterdam to carry with you every day.
